Good Morning,

In an effort to help reduce general SPAM and virus spreading through
this mailing list, I'd like to suggest removal of the mailing list to
news group interface. I don't think that anyone is using it anymore,
but I'd like to verify that before taking this action.

The newsgroup was created many years ago when that form of communication
was much easier on folks. With modern mailing lists with archives and
interfaces to allow different mail delivery options, it's no longer
really needed.

Any objections? Speak by 12/31 or forever hold your piece.

Ciao,

Ciao,
Eeek! Well, it's how I read it. I am a usenet addict and completely
dislike mailing lists. Then again, I'm a geek that way. :/

(Plus took me a while to get the german newsserver to add the austin.
heirarchy).

Before you criticize someone you should walk a mile in their shoes. That
way when they get angry, you're a mile away and have their shoes.

I've been waiting to see how much negative response I'd get.

Unfortunately it was only 2 people against and a lot of people for it,
so the interface is in all likelihood going away. For those who don't
like mailing lists, they can use the mailing list archives to view
messages. They can be found at:

http://www.ansteorra.org/mailman/listinfo/bryn-gwlad

The link is right at the top of the page.

In order to post messages you should subscribe and set yourself to
'nomail' just as you should have when reading via Usenet. You can
still post but they will be held until I have time to go through the
held messages (mostly SPAM so not frequent) and approve the post.

This is an excellent idea. I get more spam on this e-mail address than
any other and the only public place it is available is that archive.
